Excellent sculpting! The proportions, the detail - great work.
A side remark on sources: The one you have shown as the first one, a part of the so-called "Cancellaria reliefs", is also the best for your purposes. The last one, a screenshot from "Rome Total War" or something similar, I suppose, is also the least reliable one. In general, I think it is not advisable to use computer games as sources. Problems here are the shield, which is unrealistically wide, and the braces worn on the forearms: Hollywood loves them, no Ancient Rome movie without these braces, but they were just not worn in Antiquity.

Hi, sberry
Thank you for the correction.
My friend only gave me computer games as sources........ other photos found by myself but I didn't care  :xd: :xd:
Without knowledge of ancient Rome, however, up to now, I realize that I was wrong.

But still the sculpting is first class!
And one also has to admit that our knowledge on the Praetorians' dress and equipment is rather limited. There are artistic representations, like the relief that you posted, but it is impossible to tell how much of this reflected reality, and how much is due to artistic conventions. A clear answer on how similar or dissimilar the Praetorians looked, compared to ordinary legionaries, is not possible.

Excellent sculpting.

:notworthy:

I think Mr. Berry must be right (again): never use videogames or Hollywoodmovies as an example for historic sculpting. But imagine when I try to sculpt an ancient Han Chinese: it would probably go wrong much worse :-D

Anyway I would love to see a full page macro close up in color to get a better impression about how these Romans are actually sculpted by you.

Gasp!

You mean Hollywood films aren't always ( *ever*) historically correct?

Double gasp!
