Marvin wrote:Hello!

I've just finished painting the drummer, sergeants and flag bearer for my contribution to the group build. So my work is done for now.

The flag bearer holds the "Regimental Colour".

Image

The drummer wears 'white-grey' with red facings, in a reverse to the rest of the regiment. His mitre bears the King's cypher, the white horse of Hannover, and the latin motto "Nec aspera terrent". If you look really carefully, you'll see that I've painted all that carefully in... :joker:

My finished sergeants:

And just for completeness here's the rest of the troops which I posted on the WIP post:

Now I really want to see some more contributions! Bring them on, guys!

(Note to Gunnar - you can take your time, fella - but I do feel the parade needs some blue and yellow...) :-D

Superb!

OK - after some effort in order to finish this week here are mine - with heads, funky colours, flag.
I don't think they need any explanation of who or what they represent.

May the parade proceed ! Everybody join our parade !

Cheers Michael, ....et vive la révolution

Hello,

It is a tough course to join the parade

Well, here's my modest contribution, the 14th Middlesex (Inns of Court) Rifle Volunteer Corps, circa 1897.

Image

The figures used are HaT Industrie British Zulu War infantry and command sets.

Image

The Inns of Court rifle volunteers were formed in 1859, along with rifle volunteers throughout Britain (and the Empire), with the idea of defence against foreign (at the time, French) invasion.

They were civilians who served voluntarily in their spare time.

Grey was a commonly adopted colour for rifle volunteer units. By the 1890s the Inns of Court had mounted an bicycle sections as well as infantry.

Image

Image

The Inns of Court were traditionally recruited from the Bar (barristers (advocates)), and their clerks, and the unit continues to recruit lawyers to this day (now the Inns of Court & City Yeomanry). The Inns of Court sent a contingent to South Africa to serve in the Second Boer War.

Image

The rifle volunteers were subsumed, along with the Yeomanry and Militia, into the Territorial Army from 1908. The Inns of Court were an Officer Training Corps in the Great War and an armoured reconnaissance regiment in the Second World War, being practically the only British armoured force to reach its objective in Operation Goodwood.

And he did it again:

The Master of the Parcels

Arek Król bezpiecznego pakowania :notworthy:

Arek from Poland has sent his entry - which is very nice - but have a look at the parcel:

Two envelopes and a box

Image

Inside the box, I found a lot of compartements with soft bags for the figures:

Image

Image

So here are figures, but there is another part of the box:

Image

Image

Here it is and to make it save, Arek constructed a special spacer. You can see it here:

Image

Finally Arek presents you a lift for the base, which has a safty cushion:

Image

As you can imagine, this took me 5 hours to open (no, no, just kidding... :-D ) I was really flashed. Last year Arek was already the hero, the Mistrz świata bezpiecznego pakowania.

So I am really looking forward what will come next time! :yeah: :yeah: :yeah:

Thank you for taking part in the Parade!

They look terrific. Impressive Strelets figures made even more impressive once again by Konrad. :yeah: :yeah:

Now THAT's what I call a well- packaged parcel. Those very special Romans definitely deserve a parcel like that to protect them!

And we also get to see the finished Danish infantry by MABO! Bravo!!! Lovely figures in every way to grace an already great parade. :notworthy: :notworthy:

Really nice work from all of you.

Will Paul's Austronauts be the most modern guys in the parade? Or are there surprises? I have two, but none of them are more modern.
