Nock, draw and loose - Agincourt 1415

Posted by Ray.Caruana on 23 Jan 2017, 09:45

On my bench a vignette depicting three longbow archers at the battle of Agincourt 1415. A banner in the background and other props will be added later. BTW, the set is from Fredericus Rex Greenline and their quality is sky high.

I decided to replace the casted white metal bows with a more sturdy metal. They are needles, filed on one side to form a D-section, then both ends tapered and slightly bended. The hands were drilled too.

The strings made out of very thin stretched sprue.

A dry check on the composition...

...and the fun begins :-D

Maybe I will make the stakes thinner :eh:

Looking great so far, I am looking forward to see the painted figures. Very nice how you created the knocks at boths ends.

A great project. :yeah: Very nice figures. Beautiful poses. I like your own bows very well. Fantastic! The landscape as well as the wooden base are also very good. :-D
Have some questions to you: Are the arrows present at the figure set? If these painted separately and later attached to the figures?

When i was become an enthusiast for scale 1/72 a few years ago this had a reason: a lot of eye candy on smallest areas. If one is capable of doing so. And you are it definitely. What i say? You have perfected this symbiosis impressively - I would call it the "Caruana Style" or to build a "Ray". Wonderful! ;-)

An Inspiring Delight! And Quite Splendid!
Very interesting Bow Strings.

Thought by the many to be preparing their last stand.
For no quarter would be given them.

Am i fooled or one of the arrows looks as if it were dull... :eh: :xd:

Okay, that was a small joke. Ray, in terms of detailing, you are unquestionably one of my great heroes. A special work, indeed.
