Traveller.

Just an idea for palisading. If you can get the ones made from round dowels , sushi rolling mats will provide two (or more?) lengths of palisade where the 'logs' are already roped together. Just cut to height and sharpen the ends.

Image

The disadvantages here are 1. maybe you don't want the logs roped together and 2. the logs will look very neat and tidy but you could perhaps distress them with steel wool. (shabby chic sushi rolling mats! I don't believe it.).

Thought I'd mention it because if you can't use the idea perhaps someone else can.

Not much work lately on the fort, but some casualty figures are done.

@Traveller- Palisades were and still are a nightmare for me when I make a diorama LOL I can remember how much time I spent on sharping those sticks and how I have to glue them together. It is time consuming. Everything can go faster but a palisade is something it takes time...

Well I cheated a bit and ordered some custom ready made walls...

Not much progress lately, changed the flag, though now it might be too big. Painted some troops to go with the fort...

Oh, that carried-away-wounded from ESCI! Used him as a drunk in a scene!

Very nice work from you!

Stockade wall is now up, it looks huge and is probably more for 28mm, and platform is way too wide, The real palisade wall was actually in a zig zag formation but I stray a bit from reality here.

This is going to turn Epic, which I like, and that defient flag is real Cool. I feel for the struggling little guys scrambling up those earthen works. In reality all the Reb`s needed was to throw down stones that were quite deadly from that height. Was this Fort ever taken by the Union troops?
This is a well worthwhile project "So rally round the Flag boys...!" I look forward to seeing your ever advancing progress Traveller1865. BB

thanks beano, yes the fort was taken, not surprisingly when the Union fielded 4,000 against some 330 Confederates! Towards the end the defenders threw bricks they collected from winter quarters nearby.
