I just had a couple or three days to dedicate only at sculpting... and having not other distractions I concentrate better and I'm probably also quicker! ;-)

Infact I went ahead and finished the last 6 casualties...

The details on the side below are also sculpted, like most of my lying figures, despite some parts are flattened to reach the ground.

And in the next days I'll begin the rest of the guard and firing poses!

Oh,I think it's a misunderstanding........ helmet and armor was emperor Wanli’s mortuary objects. 万历皇帝：朱翊钧（1563年—1620年），即明神宗，明朝第十三位皇帝。

But some people suspect that emperor‘s body-guards may also dressed like this. ;-)

Don't have any evidence.

Besides, SET ITALERI 6123 ,4th horse is more suitable for the Song dynasty, the Ming dynasty had few armoured horses, such as the horse 3rd with surface protective armor were very few....

And in this special case also the armoured horses...

There is also another Uniform which i was told to be from the Ming Dynastie.. maybe you know this one too...

It would be a very nice figure... and thank's to Lirui hints! :thumbup:

I find quite possible, and even logical and plausible, that some body-guards could be dressed in the same way of the emperor they protected... ;-)

I'm not an expert but I heard about several similar cases... :read:

is important to show the presence of high commanders and chiefs on the battlefield, but is also tactically ovious to disguise their personal presence to avoid targeting. :winky:

And here are the complete Datong sets finished! :-D

Of course the separate guns, swords and bags will be casted to be enough for every figure (as you see are resin castings, and some still have to be "primer finished" like the rest).

We decided to include some bags, after all it could be plausible that such gunners may kept some ammo and powder and fuses along with them... despite the lack of evidences of course imposed a choice of generic bags, instead than something particular and precise... which however can be useful accessories anyway. ;-)

This picture's helmet is border region army's style but the feather on it was wrong ,only central region's general or Jinyi Wei (锦衣卫） could use it and usually two feathers(middle was a needle with red tassel and a triangle flag) ,and central region's hemet was "凤翅盔”which I had made for general . Red rectangular flag with black tassel on top of needle should matching the helmet,or three tip fork with red tassel was used by marshal(明：总兵）.
This SHAPE of helmet even widespread use by Qing army (Manchu)generals,because they had belonged to one (建州左卫） of Liaodong's garrison before.

Picture's armour is Datong's 锦甲。 :-D

By the way, I really like the above new sets :yeah:
