I want to introduce my first work in the field of sculpture building today. Unfortunately for photographing the mobile phone is only available. The pictures aren´t very impressive.

I built a set of "German Shepherds", intended to show three animals in different watchful poses. Perhaps you can see it . To better compare the size IMEX figures shot with the image.

I thank all the judges who precipitated so mild and friendly judgments about my work. I feel very respected, a nice feeling . I hope the next set can meet the expectations.

I have sculpted German Shepherds again. Unlike the first set, they should act not attentive but relaxed and playful.















Among the questions to my way of sculpting:

I build all the figures which are smaller than horses of different materials because it´s not possible for me to build with wire frame. Therefore I use only for the bodies GS, MS or similar materials. The heads and legs I carve mostly of hard plastic, waste of resin or pewter. These are glued to the torso with superglue or GS. The surface is smoothed with 2K modeling again.

With a lot of my used materials I can realize scale works only in a few cases. Therefore I will customize molds and casts about 10 at this time. One of the casted sculptures is applicable in detail until I am satisfied with the accuracy. From the remains parts are removed for further projects.

On all photos you can see both types of master, some completely made out of pewter, others assembled and adjusted in color with Revell 90.

You can see that there is to do much until all masters are the way I wish it . Now I hope you are nice to me again

Oops, I forgot to post images of another dog - playing with branch . However I wonder insert it into another set with two hunting or playful raging animals. What do you think?

I suspect you own at least one real German Shepherd, as your sculpting has captured the spirit and attitude of those fine animals to an astonishing degree.

Once I owned a German Shepherd called "Zenzi". She had to be euthanized due to inoperable hip dysplasia (R.I.P.) . Today I have only 2 cats, "Lotte" und "Hedwig". They really had to serve as models for the Hauskatzen-Set. Without payment naturelly !

So all dogs was built only after viewing of photographs. And I haven´t built sheepdogs only. Later I will show you pics of Great Danes, Setters, German Boxer, Foxhounds and more.

And Peter, longhaired (Groenendael/Tervueren) and shorthaired (Malinois) Belgians are planned. They are similar the Germans, but more slender and higher at the hindlegs. The muzzle seems more pointed too . This has to be seen in sculptures of course...

These are the poses I wish that the big maufacturer should do.
I find some different pose of dog beside the mainstream (Preiser, Revell, Zvezda to name some of the few who put dogs inside) from another small volume manufacturer. But yours are more different.
The several natural nice poses you catch with your dogs are superb.
I want since a long time do more 1/72 people interact with dogs and cats.
So it is nice to read that you plan to do "Lotte" and "Hedwig" too.
"Timi" is my Tiger in the picture beside.

I really appreciate your kind feedback. You have very well recognized my intention to build animals in scale. Some time ago when I still designed tabletops and vignettes I missed very often animals. I think they can revive nearly every scene except main battle line. Especially in the past as pets to humans played a very important role. So one day I started to sculpting. Now I think about every day what animals are in which attitudes appropriate to implement this as best.

Ideas welcome!
