Hi,
I am back after lots of other works which I had to do. I am working actually on a Great War-Diorama, the "Voie Sacrée" to Verdun in spring 1916.
I did a lot of research-work and have collected many fotos on this theme. It´s astonishing how small the range of affordable miniatures to WW1 are: there are rarely poses of marching soldiers and also resting poses in the boxes of big miniatures-producers. And nobody has find interest besides indians to the high number of other colonial soldiers who fought especially for the french in this war.
So I will integrate also some Senegalese and Morrocan soldiers in my diorama. Most of the figures will been alternations or personally new created figures especially many civilians of the time - the population of a small village in between the passing soldiers, carriages and trucks along the sacred road to Verdun. I have used for the soldiers-figures mostly W^D Models - a wonderful small producer of WW1-miniatures - and some Retrokit-, Airfix- and Pegasus-Miniatures and few Early War Miniatures. The bikers are mostly alternated japanese bikers from Hät which aren´t already shaded like all others figures.
Here some first appetizers of the buildings which are build besides two Airfix-buildings by my own.
