Zulu Attack

Posted by Old Wolf on 02 Jun 2009, 07:28

Hi mates,
this was my entry for the 7th painting competition.
i used the old esci figs and changed some positions with the hot water methode.
The Wagon is from Airfix and the sandbags are made of plaster, bought on a second hand market. The plants are an old brush and chipped wood.
I made the base with an airdrying mould.

...and here they are. Hope you ll enjoy and thx for all votes.

It is a very nice piece of work there. Lots of action, but not so crowded as to confuse what is going on. Well done for going through to the semi-finals.

Did I mention how much I like this one and how lively I think it is?

I logged on with google chrome and typing is kinda funny with that...at least for me it was. Letters were poping up multiple times, words were dissapearing and it was as if the insert button was stuck on...machines!

Anyway, I just want to take this oppurtunity to say that this entry was very lively and that I like it very much.

There's a lot going on on this diorama, the painting style is awesome and the setting very natural looking, I loved it and thought for sure that it would win.

Thought is was mr. Dürrschmidt who made this though

What a mess! Serious Wolf, this one was better than mine. Much more life, and more realistic  Congrats!

PS: Now I know who didn't vote for me!

Hey there my old (!) friend-what a pity to see you once again fail.....but only in the competition :P
Personally i like this diorama as it is full of real life-like action where ever you look !
Though it´s a big bunch of action going on , there´s also a lot of detail to see
A good photo wich put a nice contrast to the wagon in the background in comparison to the figures in the front
But don´t be sad(as usual ;-) )next time -next luck
