It is a good film/book but the last part is wrong. . In fact, Turkish soldiers, the United Nations peace force, rescued US soldiers.

Can´t find that one. The UNOSOM forces, as far as I can find, that went to rescue the mission were, American (1oth Mountain Div ..which oddly gets linked to the pakistani forces in the film) Pakistani and Malaysian (Grup Gerak Khas actually helped rescued the forces at Bakhara Market, two died and several were wounded )

Reading Jeff Shaara's "Blaze of Glory", which recounts the Battle of Shiloh in the ACW. If you've ever read any of his work, you'll know the "you-are-there" writing style. Terrific stuff.

I am reading the book "1812" from Adam Zamoyski. This seems to be older but is out now in Germany. It was an eyeopener in a lot of ways. Worth reading if you are interested in all the different aspects of this campaign.

Switching back & forth between The Sevastopol Sketches by Leo Tolstoy and Tour de France- The Illustrated History by Marguerite Lazelle. If magazines count, I've been reading a series of articles on the Crimean war in very old issues of Miniature Wargames.

Started with the new Swedish translation of Lovecraft's The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. "The more books you read at the same time the wiser you'll get"! Or was it confused .... Think I'm reading 12 or 13 right now.
