7th French Infantry Division, Lieutenant-General Baron Jean-Baptiste Girard commences the assault on St. Amand La Haie supported by 3rd French Cavalry division, Lieutenant-general Baron Jean Simeon Domon and it’s artillery.
8th French Infantry division, under Lieutenant-General Baron Etienne-Nicholas Lefol presses home it’s attack on St. Amand, fiercely resisted by Prussians from the 3rd Brigade General Major Friedrich Wilhelm von Jagow.
Prussian reserve cavalry, GeneralLieutenant Friedrich Ehard von Roeder deploys near Bry.
1V French Corps, Lieutenant-General Maurice-Etienne Comte Gerard, commences the attack on Ligny.
13th French Infantry Division, Lieutenant-General Baron Louis-Joseph Vichery assaults the Chateau De Looz area whilst 12th Infantry Division, Lieutenant-General Baron Marc-Nicholas Pecheux move against the Ferme den Haut.
Prussian reinforcements begin to deploy through Ligny and the Ferme d’en Bas.
