Gnolls (fantasy monster conversions)

Posted by 1Mac on 09 Oct 2014, 06:18

In D&D and other fantasy games, gnolls are wild, hyena-beastmen with a penchant for demonism and feral savagery. Finding gnolls in 1/72 scale is tough, so I'm making my own for my 1/72 fantasy project. Here's what I have so far:

Image

Alliance elves with headswaps and tails from some board game pieces. The gray bodies are Arcane Legions figures. I'll have to fill in some gaps and sculpt some mane after I do all the conversions I want to do, but it seems like a promising start.

More at the blog, along with tips for an alternative source of 1/72 scale gnolls.

Cool idea, but what is really good is your blog! Great comparisons, but poor Sven got to work a lot.

Another great addition to a great blog! Keep up the fine work...I'm hooked! As a matter of fact, your info on Twilight Creations figs was of great benefit, thanks!

Progress painting the gnolls. Very rough right now, but you get a sense of what they'll look like. They looked almost cute unpainted, but they seem much more vicious now.

A little more progress painting. Mostly detail work remains.
