Hat 15mm!

Posted by M. Hazelton on 29 Mar 2009, 23:59

Alright, I know this is a 1/72 scale forum, but Hat is coming out (possibly) with 15mm men. This would be great! I love 1/72, but to me they paint up slower than smaller scales. Who knows. It is probably an April fool joke!

So far, you get "page cannot be displayed" if you follow the link on the HaT site.

Even though we're suspiciously close to April First...this wouldn't be a bad idea for them. They'd have the market to themselves and there really isn't an established style for 15mm...besides shrinking their figures, as oppossed to making them bigger, might produce more consistently better results.

It does my heart good to hear that Hazel. There aren't nearly enough Southern accents in that part of the state. They're even hard to find in Gainesville and Ocala these days. Keep up the good work. :-D

But is there a market, a demand at all for 15mm plastic figures? There already are good quality metal figures in 15mm.

There's already 5,000 quality manufacturers of metal 28mm figures too...of all sorts. The idea that HaT is gonna improve on the quality of what's being offered by Perry, for instance, is dubious...easier to build and cheaper is their best marketing bet.

But those figures reduced to 15mm might rival the quality of AB's and be cheaper.

It's probablly pointless to discuss anyway considering the date .

April fool joke for sure. I remember some years ago, they announced figures in chocolate, but is was a joke to. And I find this strange names for a set:
15001 P n I n
15002 S e M a

Can you form a word with this? Is it a code?

It's a mystery! :?

I hit the edit button above instead of quote.

You don't live in Cary* do you Cole ? I know the Charolette area is almost as bad as south Florida.

Hazel I get down there all the time, but I rarely get any further south than Gainesville (go down for at least one game a year) most of the time it's to Madison or to the gulf coast (Apalachiacola, Pensecola, etc.)

*Containment Area for Relocated Yankees

PS. 1501 Pn In...is obviously Prussian Infantry! Obviously the new SYW line is going to be in 15mm!

Let's hope that this is the April-joke and not the SYW-range.
