FIGZ 2012

Posted by Cor V. on 03 Jun 2012, 16:40

My first visit to FIGZ.
It was nice to meet some of the forum people like Benno and his dad.
The atmosphere was nice and relaxed and there was a good amount of figures, diorama's and game tables to admire.

I'm home for an hour now, but I'm to tired to upload pictures. I will post them in the next few days. ;-)

WOW-What a great day to remember!!!

I enjoyed every minute of beeing there, wich means in detail:

1. The honour of meeting , discussing and talking about our hobby with such skilled experts like

Konrad,Old Wolf,Paul ,Zzed,Peter,Das Dirch,Mabo,Benno,Remco,Conny...- what a great potential of skillful art you all have-WOW

(and all those who i met,but wich (Nick-)Name i cannot remember because of my biblical age- if i should not mentioned you please forgive me- i´m sorry for that!!!! )

2. Enjoying the perfectly arranged area of the FIGZ 2012 by Benno and Remco de Groot- you both get my hat tipped-this was really outstanding!!!

3. Having the opportunity to meet modelling experts like Berthold Tacke from the MODELLFAN-Magazine-what a pleasure to have met you!!!! :-D

4.....also having my money spent on those great Stuff from Tom71 and Martin-you guys really rock! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

and of course

5.Having the great Honour of beeing involved in the Art of Modelling from the first paintings ( wich are excellent-please Francesco put those scripts / paintings on your boxart!!!), through the early builds until to the perfect master models by Francesco (FranzNap) - when I saw your work, i´m speechless.....never seen something like this - awesome!!!

6. ....uhhh...err...O.K. ....Beeing also a little bit proud to win a prize ...THANK YOU! :-D

Oh yes, it was a really great day. The location fullfills the purpose well and it's always good to meet you, guys.
At least this time I avoided to buy too much new stuff and concentrated on a handful of little things (a great ART miniatures figure for example).

At the end, Francesco (AKA Franznap) not only presented us with his extraordinary pieces of figurine art, he also gave away some of his test sprues. Wow! You should have seen his Napoleonic Naples guard infantry!
Francesco - you're going to see your little gifts painted very soon. ;-)

And here are more pictures:

Hope to see as many of you as possible on October 6 in Heiden. There's going to be a Bennos' showtable there.
And now - let's wait for FIGZ3. ;-)

Great pics from you,Dirk-thanks a lot-but i must confess, that i nearly spit out my beer because i have to laugh so much about this picture of yours!

When you look long enough you can see three poses of a long lost ancient roman sculpture group, known as
"The figure painter´s senses".
Although this is only a fragment of a really gigantic sculpture with many many figures, these mythical creatures are known as the "Parzen of Colour" , showing us their favourite moves (from left to right):

Observerus-"Sceptical but honourable view"
Lupuseniorus - "Thinking about the next diorama to come "
Conradus "Showing which detail is the best"

:-D
