Fading camo colors

How can I fade the 3 tone camo colors on German armour without an airbrush? I am using Vallejo and/or Tamiya acrylics and have always been intimidated by the 3 tone camo for this reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Usual,i am a WWII AFV builder,in all scales,and i never use an airbrush.I paint the camo's after this japanese guy tehnique:

Your King Tiger looks absolutely amazing! Hard to believe it was down with only brushes! I am sorry though I am having a difficult time understanding the text in the article that you sent; I think I need a translation! Anyway you could put the process down in your own words? Did you have a Marder going by the way in the Group Build? It's been quiet on the Marder front!

you can use lifecolor german armor set..

i paint my JS m3 with brush and lifecolor paint ..

Maybe a little late, but I found the way to fade it.
Use stiff paintbrush, the cheapest one which no one will buy for anything, and scrub the painted surface lightly, as you are going to remove the upper part of paint. I tried it with enamels, and it looked perfect for me.

Try it on some separate piece of plastic first.
