God save the Queen !!

I like a lot this period/guys, even if i'm not British... but.. i like it.









I know that the correct is to paint all the guys as Royal Artillery men, by i needed to try the other uniforms too. I failed with the Red Coats one, trouser are too blue...
About the Royal Artillery men itself, is quite difficult to find so dark blue, i'm not 100% happy with result, somebody knows one ??
About the green gun i do it as a try for future ACW guns, as these Colonial ones seems to be always painted in some kind of blue.. although i¡m not sure about if i chosen a correct colour.

They look great, jmchasco. I like them all, but I like the buff coloured ones the most.

One of the nicest paint jobs I have seen on these figures.

The Blue
I know it as Royal Artillery blue. My brother had the colour on his badges and beret as he was in the Royal Artillery. Prussian Blue is a good starter and go easy on the highlights. The red shoulder straps etc look OK it is more of a crimson than a scarlet.
The Grey
They normally used mid grey , lead grey or battleship grey, for the guns etc-sometimes in printing or in photos it comes out as light blue but is grey. The carriage ie the wooden bits were painted grey but some metal parts especially brass and moving parts were left in the natural metal.

I like them all sir! But if I had to choose then it would be the Red Coats...

If someone was to ask me to show them examples of how good 1/72 scale figures can be I would use this as an example. I understand your reservations about some of the painting but taken as a whole they are the dog's bollocks. The bases and the basing complement the figures, the figures look as if they are working the guns instead of just standing near by as some artillery crews look. All round very very nice.

With regard to the colours - they work! Leave 'em. Blue is a fickle dye anyway and would often fade quite quickly, but if you wantedt to do a darker blue, how about blue washed over black?

But for me these really are nice.

These are exceptional, they are all as good as each other, but I do like the red and blue slightly more. I would leave them as they are, the contrast makes them look really nice!

With work like this, I'd make you an honourary Englishman!
