Officers Mess

Man from la Mancha

Y'all I'm not an uneducated man. In fact, in the words of Jerry Clower, I've prolly been "edjacted beyond my intelligence." Yet somehow, I've lived 35 years without reading Don Quixote.

Well, I picked up a copy of it the other day and I had no idea how hysterical it was. I've made a scene of myself, a couple of times, laughing out loud at this thing in the coffee shop.

I think a vignette may be in order.

That book is quite funny, I wish Terry Gilliam had finished his film...

But remember these wise words from the book:

"In short, he became so absorbed in his books (figures?)that he spent his nights from sunset to sunrise, and his days from dawn to dark, poring over them; and what with little sleep and much reading (painting?) his brains got so dry that he lost his wits"

It's good thing Pardo solo-games. I reckon it's possible that some of our wargaming friends could lose it in this manner.

I finally finished the Curious Impertinent digression today...man that was on my nerves...and we're back to slaying Giants.
