What I did on my vacation

Posted by Susofrick on 11 Aug 2015, 08:32

Hi!

It's been a while since we told what we did during Summer/vacation (we did that in the old days), I start.

We started with a barbecue with the neighbours, but more neighbours showed up so we needed another table. Me and another guy went to get one. He wasn't as sober as I had wanted (I hadn't opened my beer yet). He carried the front of the table and I was at the back. He thought we were in a hurry so he took a shortcut through some bushes (with roots and other stuff). Since I had the table in front of me I couldn't see the ground, nor the roots, so I stumbled and hit the table with my right arm.

I found out that I could paint at least, the arm even got a little bit steadier. So life could go on. Somewhat clumsier than usual. Had the plaster on for 4 weeks. Then I got free, almost.

Now, the missus got two brothers, one here in Sweden and the other in Dallas, Texas. We had promised the one in Sweden that he could go to Dallas and we would take care of his rottweiler. Under conditions! That he taught her to go on ONE side of the road in a leash, and since she is sound sensitive, that he played music and made sounds natural for her. He learned her to change side of the road as she liked at a run and he turned off EVERY sound at home. She is 50 kgs!!! He has also learnt her to run forward to small dogs and children. Yiippiie yay! And I had to walk with that thing. The last walk we had someone started some machine and she ran!

Yes! Left arm too. So what did you do for Summer? :-D

Ouch that must have hurt!

During my holidays I made Germany for two and a half weeks unsafe. At the end I went one day to France to visit this Fort: http://www.lignemaginot.com/ligne/index-en.htm. Really a must do when you are there. Spended three hours 30 meters underground. Outside it was 40°, inside 12°. Nice and cool! ;-)

PS: the "like" is for starting this topic, not for your injured arms! :-D

Huge thanks for your support! I really feel the warmth you are sending me. It actually feels a little better. And are there more funnier ways to spend the summer? It is members like this that makes this forum so great! And I managed to finish some figures before I hurt my first arm! :-D

That's real tough luck Gunnar! At least you have a good reason to spend a long time on physiotherapy to retrain your muscles... and with physiotherapy I mean painting miniatures. :-D
