National award

Posted by Kekso on 17 Feb 2014, 23:14

This is hobby related in a way but I don't know to which subforum it belongs so I'll post it here.

My parents raised me up to be modest person but this is something I would like to share with all of you. Here in Croatia I'm a member of modeler's club called Croatian Association of Military Miniaturists. Today, my club is awarded with national award for technical culture (sorry, I can't think of better translation). Award was introduced by minister of science and education and it is called Faust Vrancic Award in honor famous parachute inventor. I would give you some links about awarding ceremony but all is in Croatian language so I think, there is no point to do that.

Sorry if this seems like I'm bragging about it but that's something we all are proud of. Thank you all who helped me and my fellow modelers to became what we are today.
Cheers

This is interesting news about the Award Dalibor, and info on Faust Vrancic the Parachute inventer. So well done,Modelers Club from,Croation Association of Military Miniaturists. Are some of them, fellow member`s on this Forum? Language is our biggest drawback,on this Planet. Perhaps a translater service like what Google provides could help other modellers who can`t speak or in this case read English to join Bennos Forum if they knew English could be translated into their own Language.I have that service on my PC and it costs me nothing. However I don`t know anything else about placing one on a Forum. Anyway ,nice to hear your News. BB

Thank you mates... to say, I'm just a small part of that club... there are some 30 active members.
Unfortunately, not many of them paint figures and two of them (besides me) are members of this forum. Though, they don't post much here.

Well done to you and your fellow club members.

Over here in the UK, my experience is that we (painters, gamers and all) are viewed as a bunch of grown up's who never really grew up, playing with toy soldiers. It's not the sort of thing you drop into a conversation.
So, again. well done.
