Don't worry, k.b. It's impossible to get tired of seeing such well-painted figures.

Am pretty sure this is the most beautifully sculpted charging horse pose not only have I ever had in my collection but i think i have ever seen, either in 18mm or 28mm ie made in metal. (Italeri, in days gone by, had some fabulous 1.72 plastic horses to give it a run for its money).
Here it is having been base coated in humbrol matt white enamel and afterwards a very fine first coat in yellow ochre oil paint.

Have been rather quiet of late with my paintbrush and minis but this is how far i am with Lasalle`s mount and my Polish Lancers. With the horse I`ve added a coat of pure burnt sienna oil paint that once applied all over, i then proceed to remove with a clean brush and tissue paper, thus leaving a fine coat and not clogging up any details.

The lancers are painted in slightly different tones of Prussian Blue, Ivory Black and Titanium White
mixes for the blue and the red is varied, using different tones of Alizarin Crimson, sometimes mixed with Titanium White, on other figures I`ve used Zinc White. It`s surprising the difference between the two whites.

Not much progress of late but boy are these Polish Lancers time consuming. Would say they`re on a par with hussars of any nation, be they French, British or Russians.

Am eagerly awaiting seeing these chaps on their mounts - wondering whether to use chestnuts or bays. Probably a mix of both if i know myself......

My guard lancers are nearing completion ...... finally. Probably i will change one or two of the horses to darker bays but other than a few facial tweaks i would say they are practically finished.

:coffee: The only thing i dislike about this Post is i don't have these beautiful figures in my own collection of Napolionic Cavalry. Great painting style
A rare gift for my dreamy eyes to ponder a while upon. BB
