Orcs of the Abandoned Painting Table

These have been my go-to whenever I pick up the brushes after a long hiatus. Relearning washes again and testing color schemes for different clans.

Good idea to come back with some kind of training. Are they finished in the meantime? Cool figures btw.

There are a lot more of them tha n pictured. I'm not sure thay'll ever be done. Especially with all the other distractions on the table.

Three orc betserkers. A really simple paint scheme. I was a little worried because I'd mixed their skin tone from paints I had on hand at the time. I was afraid it would be difficult to touch up any mistakes.
As it turns out, I'd mixed Medusa skin , a color I'd since bought.

And thirty orc spearmen:

Only 40 sword and axe, 30 double handed axe, 10 pike, 9 standard bearers/ speqr, 30 something cavalry and chariots, and a bunch of leader/champion types to go.

I think you chose well *not* to paint the Orc-flesh that nearly iridescent green you often see on such figures.

I'm not a big fan of what orcs have evolved into. I've been toying with different greens and greys for skin tones.

Some converted goblins from other scales that work well alongside prper 1/72s:

Maybe a bit of dry brushing left on that wolf.
