Aliens Leading Edge boardgames

Posted by PaulRPetri on 13 Aug 2024, 19:48

So while doing my Space Hulk Project I came across a game from 1990 based on the movie Aliens. Never played it or owned it but looked cool so free PDF of rules and a company doing 3d prints of the game boards and some Ebay wins for the miniature line and a quick project grew out of control. A few game shots to follow.

A few eagle-eyed viewer will notice some warping of the game pieces. That was my doing. After washing them off I let them out to dry outside and the temperature rose to 85 degrees Fahrenheit basically melting some of the pieces. Lessen learned. Took me two weeks of reheating pieces with a heat gun and clamping them back into position!! Damn the bad luck.
Oh in the game the Colonial Marines, played by all 3 players, were destroyed by the randomly controlled Aliens..ugh
Thanks for looking

Oooh, awesome!!! That reminds me of of days playing that game with my best friend, using the paper counters from the box. I think I remember one of the scenarios that was called "let's nuke Burke!"
Your table is like the original in paper and it is fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

I have the control room done just need to play a game with it!
Yes there is a short scenario in the rules to kill Burke!!
The miniatures are all from the original metal line put out by the board game company Leading Edge Games.

Nice display, Paul, both the figures and the scenery. Although I can't quite identify Lieutenant Ripley, I can almost put myself in the Marines' shoes and feel the breath of the Aliens at their backs.

Why am I not surprised by this result?

Thanks for the kind words Santi! Surprisingly enough Ripley is not in this scenario she would show up at the end driving the Marine APC through the door at the end of the reactor room the Marines were attempting to get to!!

Funny how that happens, isn't it?

Nice job on the boards and the clutter.
