Space Hulk Original version

Posted by PaulRPetri on 13 Aug 2024, 15:53

I have no idea why I did this project I had never played Space Hulk ever in my life but a strange whim took me so I decided to see if I could make a game out of nothing. I was able to find all of the original rules and expansions: Deathwing and Genestealers on line as free PDF's. Step one completed. I then won some Ebay auctions and obtained some original figures and some second edition metal figures. I created the game boards using Hirst molds, https://hirstarts.com/molds/moldssci.html and dental stone to cast them.
Now a few shots of some games.

The games are very fast and fun to play with a ton of tactical decisions to be made in each contest. I still have a bunch of terminators still to paint but not as many figures as I normally have with one of my insane projects.
Thanks for looking

Space Hulk is one of the three best games Games Workshop ever relesed; the other two are Blood Bowl and Mordheim. I have the old SH game and play it sometimes with my son. I also use their original tiles for my 15mm games.
I love how you painted your minis with bright colours just like in the old days, and the terrain is terrific. Congratulations!
PS. I dreamed once about doing one SH with the tiny Epic range on the magnetised board.

Very very cool! Not my usual ‘cup of tea’, but still very cool!

Really? Eons of Battle (he has a real name but I forget it) speaks a little fast for me but I don't find his accent remarkable - a lifetime spent watching American movies & TV?

I am fairly uninterested in Warhammer, which is all E0B covers, but I watch his videos sometimes because I like his enthusiasm & although our painting styles are world's apart, I still sometimes pick up a useful hint. Particularly on products.

I was talking about him to my son. EoB evidently doesn't have a "real" job but my boy assures me you can make a very good living off of YouTube if you produce a large number of popular videos.

I am gobsmacked & envious in about equal proportions.
