Hi guys,

I think this is by far the biggest figure i have ever painted. I really love these beasts in the movie so when i had the chance to buy one very cheap i did. And then i started thisproject full of energy. But this thing is so big that halfway i kinda "paused". Dont know if you guys sometimes have the same but i just could not continue with it. Then a few weeks ago after a pause of about a year, i saw i standing on the shelf and thought come on...finish it. So here are some shots of the last week, hopefully i wil finish it before we go on our vacation. If not i promise you that it will be done..... this year :-D :-D :-D

It's good that you consider finishing it. Have taken pauses from A LOT of projects, hope to finish some of them. Looking forward to see this beast finished.

It's hughe indeed, but it looks fantastic so far!

I also take some pauses when I'm working that will take very long. So I have many ongoing and unfinished projects on the shelf. But one day I will finish them! :-D

Hi guys,

Sus & Peter, thanks for your replies. You guys realy are "the heart" of the forum, always reacting and giving feedback and compliments to everybody. Thanks for that guys ! :yeah:

Wel enough of the SMALLtalk and back to the BIG project.

I have finished the tower on the back of the beast and added the cables to keep it together

I have put a 1:72 fig in it just to see how it would look and i think it is perfect. Somehow i have the idea that the mumaks in the movie are way bigger than the model in 28mm scale so i think it works great for 1:72

Next step will be the war-paintings on the beast. This is something i'm a little bit nervous about because this could spoil the head completely. On the other hand it is fantasy, so if it turns out bad i can always say that it was on purpose since there are no real historical facts :-D ..... or are there.. :coffee:

Awesome Work my Friend,
i greatly admire each step of the work.
So it took a while to finish ?
Often is the case these things need leaving,
and then one day fresh ideas spring forth into ones mind,
and splish splash the work begins again.
Like Gunnar remarked upon pausing,
we have paused on things but hope to finish them some day.
After all we are all Masters of our own work,
and can therefore take time out when we feel like it.

Chapter 3 ( if I remember correctly )

Splendidly Painted dykio.
