Update lancer no 10 conversion:
Continued working on the horse and figure.
I altered the look of the running horse a bit. Put some MS ( Magic Sculp) below the horse's throat and sanded that in the right way. Otherwise the neck was too thin.
Then the underpainting started; First layer of Humbrol 110, second layer of plain brown ( Winsor and Newton oils) After drying I put a layer of yellow and orange oil paint onto it. This still has to dry and then I'll give the horse several washes with blue, black, sienna and van Dykebrown.
I made a mistake with the saddle. At first I used the saddle of the British Hussar, but I changed with the one of the Polish Lancer. I had different reference pictures, but I wasn't sure about the right saddle. Most pictures were with the French saddle.
The lancer is constructed basically from the Polish Lancer
Torso= Polish Lancer, legs too, face is from Scots greys( open mouth), headgear= basicly Polish Lancer.
I needed a lot of cutting and filling because the position of the Lancer is different from the original one.
The figure isn't sitting right. Have to adjust this.
After all this was done a layer of Humbrol was put on the figure for an even base colour.
Now left to dry for a couple of days
