I'm a Belgian and I live in Antwerp, I used to build WWII tanks but recently I started painting my first bust and I simply got addicted. I like the medieval era because of the colorful figures and busts, it's completely different to WWII related subjects.
MJ Miniatures Viking Warrior, 9th Century in 1/12th scale is a cool bust to paint, the pose is nothing but striking.
Its well molded resin parts make it a great project, simple and hopefully effective too after my painting job, I'll leave that up to you to decide fellas.
I like oil paint to work with, most of the time unthinned and wet in wet.

I use Humbrol enamels for base coloring and I prefer to start with the eyes and head :
The helmet was given quite a bit of battle damage and Humbrol enamels were applied :
I used metals from dark gun metal up to a tadd of chrome.
Making pics regularly helps to reveal flaws I think.
The shield is a nice addition to the figure and I will complete it with a couple of arrows.
