Can it be that you placed one iron on the first door wrong? The middle one.

Hello Peter,
the iron in the middle serves as a crossbar. The hinge on the left will be fixed to the doorframe. The centre of the rotation of the crossbar will be on the left side of the door frame. That´s the reason, why you can´t see the crossbar fixed to the doors. The doors are opened to the right side. On the right end of the crossbar, there is a hardly visible slot for placing a padlock. I will show you the photos of the real thing later.
