Good evening all. Methinks this thread is dying a slow death - let's see if a few new pictures can rustle up a bit more interest; if not will stop posting until the whole scene, base and all, is ready. Here's a Carabinier officer and an Empress Dragoon trooper for starters.

and here's a Line Lancer officer from a couple of different angles...

Thanks Peter and MABO. Pleased to see that there are a few members out there who are interested not only in 1/72 but also in the smaller scales.
Once I get this scene finished i have every intention of returning to my larger plastics which will surely be a piece of cake after tackling these wee fellows.
However, still got a few ABs to finish before I go about a large scenic base, make trees and paint a nice backdrop. Methinks I'm gonna take about another month to get this scene finished once and for all.

PS/ It goes without saying I'm also hoping to get my hands on a better camera ;-)

I think here are a lot of people interested in smaller scales. First of all the Admin! :-D
Keep in mind that 1/72 is the largest scale here  ;-)

Thanks for your interest and support MABO  and you are undeniably right that there are some interested members in smaller scales, including our maestro himself - cheers BENNO

However, overall there seems to be few who actually work or at least post pictures of smaller scale figures (or reply to other peoples' posts  ) when you compare with 1/72s.

When all said and done 3 pages of 18mm or smaller v 46 pages of 1/72s proves my point don't you think? :headbang: ;-) )

Thanks gents for the encouragement...however, don't hesitate to add your constructive criticism if you have any.
Here's one last close-up of these lads before their appearance in the finished diorama.

Keep in mind that these little fellows are Tony Barton's remarkable 18mm Ab figures. His sculpting in this scale never ceases to amaze me.

In answer to your question Peter oh yes there are still plenty to come. Perhaps 10 -15 figures afterwhich, I will decide on how many minis will fit comfortably on the base. Methinks there will be around 50 figures in the finished scene.

I promise you ColeF you will be delighted if you get your hands on some of these fellows. Once they're cleaned up and polished with a suede brush they literally cry out to have paint added. Am sure you'll love painting them.

Thanks gents for your comments.
