New Year, New Color

Posted by Dad's Army on 01 Jan 2026, 14:30

Hi Guys,

It has been a while since I posted somthing, but I have a schort holiday now and finaly found some time for the hobby, and because my GF has started a challenge blog, I did decide to make a small vignette for it, and worked on it the last 2 days. The theme is "New Start, New Beginning" so I decited to make another converion form an old Asterix figure. My first plan is make the guy put up an poster of there blog on an advertisementpole, but since I dont have a working printer I did change it to a housepainter.
I once made another painter with a brusch, so this one had to have a roller in his hand.

The figure i did use is this one:

And I made this from it:

Even made a painters chair:

finaly this was the result:

I hope you like it, and as I do with all my conversions, on my blog you can see the step by step proces: BLOG

Happy new year, let's keep our hobby alive

Great conversion again, Remco. You could have used the necklace as a rapper accessory. With that low neckline...

True, Jan, the figure could be a great conversion for a Rapper. Necklace chain, hand movements, everything spot on :-)
Just the head position needs to be changed from haughty to something more angry and involved - maybe simple inclining does the job.
Remco - are you ready ?
Greetings
Michael

Cool idea, a rapper.
When I was painting this painter I did not paint the necklace gold, because he should be a clumpsy painter.
But for a rapper version I could try to make something out of this figure.
And it will be difficult to make his head more angry, so I have to overthink that idea.
Put a microphone in his hand, and a hat the otherway around...

Thanks for your reactions, an ideas!

Wow, Remco, I never tire of admiring the great imagination you display in searching for the most appropriate Asterix figure to achieve the desired result. And not least the whole process of construction, conversion and painting that makes it possible (I'm particularly fascinated by the ladder).

My warmest congratulations on this fantastic vignette!

Santi.
