Chaos rise!

Well, the quality of this figure is not as good as the previous Marauders on horse, and this is reflected somehow on the painting result.

That's your modest opinion, Javier. Mine is that this figure has nothing to envy to the previous Marauders after going through your fantastic painting process.

Thank you my friend but this time the flesh is not so well painted and also I had a bit of a hurry because I wanted to have it ready for a game. Besides, the figure is not really well sculpted. I mean I don't like it much, especially waist upwards, and that affects my painting. I'm afraid I paint differently when I like or dislike a figure.
Cheers,

Cheers,

It is still better painted as I would do it! ;-)

Chaos Sorcerer on horse. It's not the original old metal figure but a 3D copy.

Another 3d copy. This time a chariot for an extra punch in the army.

:coffee: Splended post indeed. Bravo!
To depict the result of energized speed, that dreaded lawnmower
needs a large dust cloud spiraling upwards behind it. BB

That's it. I am definitely done with Warhammer. Me and my best friend, who passed away in 2020, started in the early eighties and we did 1st, 2nd and 3rd edition and then we stopped and did other games. I sold my old school Orc army and then we forgot about Warhammer. Much later, The Old World came and I gathered again some stuff from Chaos I had, and painted many more to build me a 2K points army, and looked for players, and started again with Warhammer.

But I had forgotten things I never liked about this system; things like competitive players, rolling for hitting, wounding and then saving, thousands of special rules and continuous updates plus the need of learning everything about all the armies and magic objects and weapons in Warhammer that now I find boring and a chore, plus my poor memory that does not help either, as well as the fact that I am getting older, 59 now, and there is a gap between me and current players.

So I sold my Chaos army and a friend picked most of it last night. Also, I took a goodbye picture with me and my soldiers. I tried to take a picture like the famous one from Mr. Bryan Ansell as a tribute to him because I admired him and I am very grateful to him for all those wonderful years he gave me with Warhammer and Laserburn, but I raised the wrong arm in the picture, so I reversed it as now I cannot change that because the army is gone.

Anyway, I am glad that I got rid off all of it. It took me an effort because it represented the golden years of my youth and some of the best moments of it with my friend, but I wasn't going to use it anymore and I feel lighter now they have departed. So farewell.

I know what you mean, I went to Warhammer World a few weeks ago and felt completely out of my depth. I went round the exhibition and saw figures that I know I still have -somewhere - and they're considered ancient history.
I rehabilitated my old Empire army a couple of years ago to use in Dragon Rampant, and I have bought some more recent figures but again to use in DR, but I have no urge to pick up either 40K or Old World.

Having disposed of many beloved but unneeded figures a few years ago, I can understand that it's a process worth doing.

I've never played any Warhammer games but I do follow it on YouTube etc - it is wargaming after all & of interest.

I'm certainly not criticising it as a game but it seems immensely complex. I can understand how if you have one army, you could get on top of its many specific rules but how do you play multiple armies competently? It would be beyond me.

I have about 20 historical armies over a dozen periods & that's complex even if I lean towards quite simple rule sets (eg Black Powder, Hail Caesar, Lion Rampant etc).

At any rate, Blacksmith, I think you've made the right decision.
