Tercios Espanoles . Siglo XVI

Posted by Luis on 28 Apr 2019, 20:52

The "tercios españoles" to the yell of "Santiago y cierra España" started the battle. They dominated the world for a century and a half, being the best infantry of the world.

This diorama is made of about 60 figures of white metal, 28 mm, of the spanish brand "Zenit Miniatures".

In my opinion, beside Oniria Miniatures, are the best brands in the market of metal in 28 mm.

The sculture of Zenit Miniatures are of high quality and they are a pleasure for the brush.Image

Beautiful figures, exquisitely painted!! Your style of painting suits these figures very well. Lots of color, but appropriately muted. I really like your subtle use of highlights and shading. I'll have to study that more.
Composition of the diorama is well-executed. Looks like that took a lot of planning.

Are the flags hand-painted?

Thanks for sharing!!

Can only agree with the others, a true masterpiece!    Hmm, haven't we seen something like these figures being sculpted here on the forum??? I probably remember wrong (16th century is not my strongest point  ). Marvelous figures! Even if these aren't his figures I still remember Oniria's face-painting tutorial. :eh: Quite marvelous results!

Outstanding! Beautifully painted figures and the battle scene has real intensity.

I can't decide which looks the more formidable; the infantry, the cavalry, or the Priest.
