Barbarossa

Posted by Dad's Army on 29 Apr 2018, 11:53

Well as you all know I don't post much of my work here.
Main reason is cause I am doing mostly Asterix figures, so all the same..
But once and a while I paint something else.

For my monthly post on my blog, I took a figure I got years ago.
It looks so great, I didn't want to paint it cause of my (bad) painting skills.
But now I took the change, and I must say it turned out well.

So let me present to you Barbarossa:
Image

It is a 25 mm figure, I got more info on my blog:

Splendid looking figure. Really nice balance of highlighting/shading and the turban windings look really good.

The face is excellent.

Dad's Army is growing his painting skills considerably. Thanks for showing us this fantastic figure. My favorite parts are the furry fringe on his jacket and the baggy pants. Thanks also for the history lesson on your blog. I believe it may be every pirates dream to be so respected for his skills that he is recruited by a powerful empire and named Grand Admiral!!

There is a big difference between luck and skill. What I see with this Barbarossa figure is definitely the latter.

Remco,
Even if he has a turban oddly resembling whipped ice cream, he - he!
He is rather painted pretty cool my friend. BB

Great work! Pity that we don't see more of your work! But we get to see some of it least! I think he was redbearded as young!
