Perry French Dragoons

Posted by MABO on 08 Apr 2018, 14:54

Hello friends,

after al longer break without anypics from me, I would like to show you my French Dragoons from Perry Miniatures.

I have painted them as men from the 7th Regiment. It was a joy to paint them. I really like the figures from the Perry Brothers for their apperance full of character. I missed a better description how to add the sabers, but I hope I have done it right.

I used the included bases to fix them in small groups. I have no idea how to wargame, so I do not know if it was the wrong system, but I think: Who cares! ;-)

My next project are the Prussian Infantrymen.

What about painting 28 mm guys do you enjoy more than 1/72?

No, definitly not. I am collecting and painting 1/72 minis since 20 years now. But the Perrys are an exception to me. I startet collecting their plastic sets, I could not resist... Meanwhile I have some metal sets as well.

I did not compose that note as precisely as I should have. I meant: "I know your one true love is 1/72 scale. But what aspects of 28mm do you enjoy, in addition?"

Great work, Ian. Perry's mini are always tempting. And as a former 28mm painter, I also know they that give great satisfaction once on the table fully painted.

Thank you very much folks! I am happy that you all like my humble paintwork

@Bluefalchion: I simply like the figures. The Perry create wonderful figures. And since they work with plastic sets, I am hooked because I can buy a fair number of nice figs in this scale. And ACW, Nappies, the Medivals and the WWII Desert War are my points of interest.

But finally... I stand behind the true scale :-D

I must confess I have stared longingly at the brilliant Perry Afrika Korps but the 28 mm thing always threw me off.

Like them a lot Jan! Great job done!

I also paint figures in other scales, smaller as 1/72 is just for the challenge, bigger as 1/72 is to give my eyes some rest! ;-)

And it's fun! :-D
