54 French mounted Hussar 1813

Posted by Santi Pérez on 31 Aug 2017, 18:43

This is another old work, I made it about twenty years ago.

The figure is a 54mm 31 pieces kit from the Napoleonic Wars series made by the Spanish manufacturer Andrea Miniatures (http://www.andreaeurope.com/es/).

It represents a private of the 4th Hussar Regiment circa 1813. A really complicated to paint figure due to the complexity of the uniform. However I am very satisfied with the result, except for the colour of the dolman and breeches, which must be a darker blue. :(

Some general views first. In the next post more detailed ones.

That detailed braiding on the pelisse is simply a delight to see. Beautiful figure, eye-catching with crisp and bright colours - everything a hussar should be - bravo! :-D

Thank you very much for your kind words, Kekso and Marvin. :-)

I still remember that the painting of the great amount of details of the figure was a strong headache, but now I think that it was worth all the time and effort invested.

Here are some more detailed pictures (excuse their big size, but this is the best way to see the details...and also the mistakes  ).

Great detail paintwork on the uniform lacing, chords, etc. Brushwork is precise and clean. Good looking Hussar! Bill

Thank you, Bill.

Remembering all the time I spent painting it, and despite the time that has passed, I really think that this is the best figure of my collection. It was a present from my parents and I wanted to do a special work on it. :-)

Best regards.
