28mm "Retreat from Moscow"

Posted by gerry7944 on 11 Aug 2017, 00:16

The project is at last finished.

I have used Perry,Calpe,Front Rank, Victrix,Murowski, and my own converyed figures on this project which was a lot of fun to do but gee my eyes are suffering.

Thank you to all who followed the build and for all the words of encouragement it really helped with the mojo.

I hope you enjoy the finished product.

Cheers

Gerry

My compliments on what has undoubtably been a labour of love.

Lots going on, superb painting, excellent debris etc.

I particularly like the wolves!

Best wishes,

Chris

Not everyone would include a figure in the process of making yellow snow. There's detail. :-D :yeah:

The finished diorama is magnificent.

I also really loved the last set of pictures in the WIP that showed close ups of the figures in situ, they were something special.

I was glad to see that excellently portrayed bonfire. Every time I saw all of the discarded equipment I was yelling at the figures to "burn that stuff to keep warm".

Your support throughout this project was very much appreciated.

It did turn into a labour of love although sometimes I wished I could just stop buying figures or converting them as it just kept growing.

Thank you very much for your kind comments throughout this build.

Glad you ,liked the wolves I just wanted to show thr horror of this retreat and the wolves eating a dead soldier just sort of brought it to the fore.

He is a very brave man doing this in minus 40 weather.

There is actualy accounts of soldiers wetting themselves for the heat but then they suffered when it froze inside their trousers....ouch.

Terrific stuff gerry. But can we have one shot that captures the entire diorama?

Gerry--

Very very cool. I wish I could create something like that. What are you going to do with your diorama now? I perceive that it takes up a fair bit of space. Any museums in your area?

I think I will just keep it on display in my man cave(even more dusting)

I have no museums near me that would want this type of dio unfortunately.
