1/35 diorama "When will they invent a Sat Nav"

Posted by gerry7944 on 13 Jun 2017, 16:31

This is a 1/35 diorama using the Italeri Opel Blitz and motorbike kits.

The figures are a mixture of Esci, Verlinden, Italeri, and Tamiya.

They have been painted using Vallejo paints.

The base is a picture frame and various static grass, and Woodland scenics materials have been used.

This was an early attempt on my return to the hobbt about twelve years ago.

Cheers

Gerry

I like the idea of the one working with the chain in front of the truck too.
The only miss is an overall pic.

Great work. Love the pea-dot pattern. When you returned to the hobby 12 years ago, where did you return from? The work on display in this thread is a the product of a mature and skilled painter and diaromist.

Thanks for that.

Your kind words are very much appreciated.

I dabbled with models as a boy but lack of funds, a career, then marriage, and a family just got in the way.

I retired 12 years ago and found I had time on my hands and just floated back into doing models the way I wished I could have done them back in the day.

Of course there is a greater choice now of not only models but paints and modelling products .

I still love trying to cobble together something on a small budget and finding ways to make things look realistic on the cheap.

It's the old thing of "wish I had known then what I know now" and of course having a bit more disposable income at hand also helps.

Cheers

"When will they invent a Sat Nav"
Stick to the map it's safer.

The question now is when will they invent a sat nav that is reliable.
Modern sequence ; turn on sat nav - disconnect brain and rely on sat nav - stop and ask a local where you are - or; turn on sat nav - disconnect brain and rely on sat nav - phone for a tow truck to get you out of the river - or.......................
