An excellent piece of toning and shading. I do find it a very strange shade of blue for a RHA officer's uniform though.

His grave is just across the road from my house. It was recently renovated so it stands out from all the older gravestones. It is by the Eastern entrance to St Davids Church , Exeter. Mercer is an English name pronounced like Merser but Cavalié (correct spelling) is a family name of a relative. Exeter is blessed with Google Earth 3d so his resting place can be seen from above in 3D but also from the street view - Queens Terrace, Exeter, Devon should get you there. His journal is also on line.
Nice model and very well painted. Many modellers paint the Artillery blue too light it is a Prussian Blue.

Your painting skills are really improving with each next project. Awesome work on clothing, especially fur.

Thank You very much. :yeah:
Why that BLUE? Because it is more funy, than just blue. And I was inspirated with finished Capt.Mercer here - http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/cap ... 815.74787/
I liked this painting. I didn´t use metal paint on ornaments and laces on uniform, I use only yellow. And didn´t paint dirty places on shoulders etc... But I liked the blue, what he used. :-D

I thought that was where you got the colour from.
Unfortunately, because of the choice, no matter how well you paint it and you certainly have done that, you can't really name it after Alexander Cavalie Mercer because his uniform, therefore he, would never have looked anything like that.
