1/48 Diorama "Whispering Death"

Posted by gerry7944 on 01 Jun 2017, 02:43

Another aircraft one I'm afraid.

This is the 1/48th Tamiya Corsair kit and the two figures were in my spares box don't remember the make of them.

Cheers

Gerry

Weathering is good for sure... and you did nice job on decals... I cannot see any "silvering"

I like the detail in the cockpit and the buckles on the pilot's flight suit and parachute. Wear on the white underside is cool, too. I may be a little dense, though. Why is the title of this dio "Whispering Death?"

Awesome job, especially on the Corsair! Maybe the sanc could need some highlights by drybrushing dor example, but thats just my taste.

Bluefalchion

Thanks for that.

Much appreciated.

Whispering death was the name the Japanese soldiers gave the corsair due to the noise the engine made when it was doing strafing runs on their positions.

I did give the sand a drybrush but it is obviously too subtle to be picked up in the photograph.

I can only add to the praise on the weathering effects, the leaking fuel and black streaks on the gun ports, etc. Lovely work to see.
