1/48 Tamiya He 162 Diorama

Posted by gerry7944 on 20 Mar 2017, 16:19

Another Aeoroplane diorama.

I have used the 1/48th Tamiya HE 162 and some Tamiya figures on this one.

The base is scratch built and I have livened the engine up with some lead wire.

Should that guy be smoking so near to the aircraft?

Cheers

Gerry

Nice work Gerry. Although that engine (white metal parts) look too clean for my taste.
I'm not aircraft expert, but I would expect them do be more dark and greasy.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.

Much appreciated.

The engine has just been changed for a new one as the ground crew are wheeling away the supporting trolley, and the pilot is taking it up for a test flight.

I would agree with you had it been a petrol or diesel engine but jet engines are a lot cleaner than they are.

Real nice and original work!

Gerry, now and then I see an engine of an F16, and I can tell you that they don't look that clean! ;-)

Great! Thanks for showing us.
:yeah:

Only the kill marking are unrealistic. As far as I know there was not a single one.

Is the smoker to give fire to start the engine?

Thanks for that.

Much appreciated.

The decals came with the kit and I just put them on.

I really don't think he should be smoking thaty close to jet fuel. Still he is an officer and knows best.

Thank you for explaining Gerry. As I said, I'm far from airplane expert of any kind.
