28mm diorama "The butchers bill"

Posted by gerry7944 on 06 Jan 2017, 12:35

This is a 28mm diorama using Perry figures and ambulance, with a few pieces from the spares box.

I have used Vallejo model paints on the figures and ambulance, sand, static grass ,and various tufts on the base.

Cheers

Gerry

Casualties... sad fact of every war. Diorama is very dynamic and composition is good.
But with so much green and colorful uniforms skin of "living" figures is too pale for my opinion.
It is good for casualties but for living ones I would make them more lifelike and warm.
That is just my opinion, of course.

Nice display. I like the, I have seen it all before attitude of the first driver.

Personally I like filthy troops to reflect the realities of campaigning but these are very nicely painted. My dead guys are all painted a grey/ flesh to represent the loss of circulation/ blood loss but shock, in its self will make you not look your best!

Best wishes,

Chris

This is the other side of war! Your diorama says it all! With the "butcher" not knowing where to start! ;-)

Right.
A Dio "after the battle" or " what during a battle happen" get not so the high credit. I try it.
So it is hard to push the like button. But I do so because:

:yeah:
The arrangement of the figure and pose are "horrible" good.

So let`s hope that the butcher can help all of the survivors.
And is not in need to use the saw.

Very good (and terrible) diorama. Remarkable painting work: even the nails in the iron wheel strips are painted in groups of five! And a very good choice for the blood: dark brown red.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.

Much appreciated.

I wanted the figures to look pale as I guess that is how we would all look confronted by the aftermath of a battle.
