Believe it or not your 15mm look better than your 28mm figures (having in mind that size difference is significant).

Nothing to believe actually.
AB figures are better sculpted than any 28mm figure.
So after equal painting they usually still look better too.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment.

Much appreciated.

I do not like using darker blues on my French as it makes them very similar to Prussians.

I go on the precept that over time and with wear the uniforms would lighten up.

Yes, I am familiar with such reasoning.
This is acceptable for regular regiments, but douptful for Guard.
Also bright blue makes them very similar to Bavarians.. ;-)

What paints do you use? Foundry, for example, offer different blues for Prussian and French.
My French Guard with Foundry French Blue is here.. also "weathered" with French light blue.

These are beautifully painted troops and even more so in this scale. I really like the faces and wish manufacturers would copy this standard. Some figures can look as if they gave been shot in the face before they see action

The question of French blue is one that will be discussed for ever and I think weathering is a good point. However, the re enactors at Waterloo 2015, who are purists on this sort of thing were dressed in a dark 'indigo' blue not at all disimililar in my opinion from the blue the Prussians were sporting at the same event.

Seasons greetings.

Sho

Love those Gaurdsmen.

I use Vallejo model colour triad of Dark blue, blue, and medium blue.

I have to say that the blue in my pictures is a bit lighter than in the flesh?

Bavarians had cornflower blue uniforms which to me is like a sky blue?

I am still trying to master the art of photography as you can tell from some of my pictures.
