BB`s Toy Figures

Posted by Beano Boy on 20 Sep 2015, 14:04

Jan,I bought the book on Kindel , "AIRFIX KITS by Trevor Pask Shire Library",
but, they were not listed in there I just checked!
I actually saw the info on them here, airfixtoysoldiers.come/ space warriors ( all lower case letters . )
Sorry I read so much stuff in the course of a day that I made a mistake.
Sorry too,i just do not know how to place a Link to Stuff! BB

The last bag from 1982 arrived. It had these seven figures inside it.I have now three complete collections.

Image

It was mentioned to me these are Flash Gordon Figures! I was totally unaware of this. So it goes to prove the old saying ,"We Live And Learn."

Image

In the 1950`s I would often play Flash Gordon games, with the old radio valves which did look like his space ship. I had no toy figures in those far off days, but I made up for that lack,by having lots of imagination. My older Brother Ron,bought Sci Fi type Comics like the Eagle,so they were my only sauce of inspiration on thoughts of play. We had no TV in those early days of the BBC. BB

Having no spears or battle axe ,these Normans all have swords.
The swords in question are a bit to short, but these toys are well fit to Rumble!

These are the last four of the ZULU Poses available. There were another four poses released in 1/32 scale, but i have had no luck tracking these down, and in my way of thinking i have doubts they even exist for sale! Perhaps someone out there has them in their stash!.

Image

There are another two sets from this range, and they are British Infantry. Only available to order by way of Fax Machine. A Call to Arms Company is way behind the times in the running of thier business. Found one box in the USA for $12,00, but they also want $38.00 Shipping! BB

Britains Toy Figures

Medieval toy Archers in fine tip top condition.

Image

Well the Lot containing broken odds and ends arrived, and I am well pleased to have these complete items that were also found among them. The way beyond redemption figures were placed in the waste bin because this type of plastic they do not recycle.

Image

Having bought empty canoes last year with a view to filling them has now paid off,and i hope you like these six toy figures from the 1970`s. :read: " Well i like e`m BB."_____ :-D " Thanx BW !"

Image

My word this guy is going to have such a headache ! I already had the Indian with the bow,but felt the Cowboy needed another figure to help set the scene.

So for just under £5.00, I have good looking toys from yesteryear.

Ah, the canoe! :-D But the squaw is a nice touch. We had a teepee we put her in front of. But most she was used every Christmas as Virgin Mary. Wait a minute, that canoe I think had a trapper and a cowboy in it. Can be wrong.

A Call To Arms: ZULUS AT ULUNDI

Well i finally found a box of these rare to find Zulus in UK. There is a Site where you can order them, and they are produced in the UK,but i pay nothing now by way of Bankers Check, and that is what they wanted,so that was that.

Image

Because of the very dark brown plastic they are made of,i added high lights to lighten them up a bit.
It was a bit like trying to photograph very dark chocolate.

Image

Image

In the shot above i removed six figures from the back row, because i found the poses did not work out pleasing to my eye. This is one big problem with sets with only 4 Poses. I have a set of British Infantry arriving soon,so i hope to show you them real soon. BB
