BB`s Toy Figures

i kinda feel sorry for these large Vintage Cherilea toy figures form the early 60`s, especially the yellow fellow below because of the state of the poor condition he finds himself in.
Their pose an odd one is of an `Arched Back Roar!'
Or perhaps after cleaning their teeth,
they are gargling their mouth out with swishy wash water?

In my imagination these large toys therefore did an awful lot of spitting,
and an unlucky treading 20mm figure could get stuck fast to it if not to careful of where he stepped.









Perhaps by painting and setting these toy figures to rights,
it could be the pathway back for me?
While looking up at them i am highly unlikely to find e`m to hard to see! BB

Remco....Dads Army! had a slight acident when he left the top off his magnifier.




So as the sun shone,
the tiny Bubble Gum Figure he`d spent hours painting caught fire.



Fireman Sam ( Benno ) was quickly on the scene,
and so the fire did no further damage.



i decided to include it here not to make to much fun out of that bad situation,
but to extend Remco`s Fire Warning to all you guys who use Magnifying Tools in the hobby. So take care. A figure can be replaced,even a home,
but alas people cannot.

Over 200 Posts have been placed in this topic devoted to Toy Figures,

That is why i included this here,because lots of people love to view toys of yesteryear and most certainly the Asterix Bubble Gum Range is famous and is getting as rare as Hens Teeth,____or even in fact my own. BB

Finally Arrive Here



On Mr Triggles House Boat topic

Here Fred is Dry Brushing,but has no paint at all upon the brush. This seems very odd to MayBell.

Fred is Special,he was an Imperial Dalek from the 1970 original mould. However he is no longer a Dalek,he is the COMPLEX UNIT F.R.E.D, known simply to us on Benno`s Figure Forum,as Fred.

Oh Yes I have hundreds of Alien Pepper Pots. Mr .Cryns.
For use in my Fantasy and Sci-Fi story`s of which there are many.



This is a third of them.



Here are another third.These all arrived three years ago.

Half the Alien Pepper Pot Army are Imperial Daleks and very rare,
I bought the entire stock out three years ago from the BBC Shop on E Bay.
When asked why? I replied simply, "Because I can."


I have others that are unpainted . I guess that I am one Spaced out Beano Boy! BB

It was around the time that I was 8 years old that they first appeared in B & W on BBC TV.
So I have taken that time line in order to collect them now,
because I had a very poor up bringing in post war Britain,
as did most upon the Avenue where we lived and played.
Certainly there was never money for toy figures at that time,
but always I was a happy child and quite a dreamer.
It seems I never changed within myself at all.
So how can I send toy figures to myself from the distant past to my toy collection now?



It was in 1957 when they all went through the same Mirror that Alice had gone through
in ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS. But who are they? Nearly 60 years into the future to November 21st of 2016, we find out.







They finally arrived slap bang into a Sci-Fi Fantasy Story upom my little work table. BB

These Toy Figures,stand upon my P C`s Sound Speakers. Amongst them a few classic toy figures,and oddities Mrs B,picks up are seen too. My Cyclopes my last figures I managed to paint earlier this year are there too.

Unlike Zvezda Boxes,those shown are all full of model soldiers.
Some elsewhere are full of cut off the sprue figures.
One cannot keep all the boxes. Can one?



Part of my scratch built toy collection for the Honey Well Layout.
In my hand my bicycles and tiny Rack.



These are few odds and ends that did not go into the organized Nap Collections. I need to reshoot the collection but it is finding the time to do so. Perhaps sometime next year?



They should be in those tiny boxes on the far right in the photo. My look upon my face,one of wonderment as Mrs B,struggled herself trying to use my old camera. On the shelves other former scratch built projects. I love making my own. It stems from making my own toys as a child. A dictation of post war poverty. So it certainly was, and still is not a point of vanity but one of pure eccentricity!

Inspite of battling terrible illness this year, I have had the oddest pleasure of working with three of my Students taught here at our home.A Mother and her two teenage children,a young lady and her younger Brother. ( They fell in love with our dog Bella.) They kept what they made,and no money changed hands I paid for everything they needed.It gave Mrs B,and I great pleasure to do so. Such is the rich tapestry of teaching again.

In this corner near the window more of my Napoleonic Model Collection,and above ZULUS.
Above them boxes of Castings used for props,and yes that is where another box of Tiger Tanks is. Mrs B,moves stuff and I lose track of it.

Amazon boxes of Railway Loco`s Stored up. There are over 42 Train Sets and a massive collection of period piece 60`s & 70`s rolling stock uncountered.The limited edition Thomas The Tank Engine Range of Loco`s were added to that toy collection this year. All boxed up because we had Electricians checking out the wiring and plug sockets throughout the entire house a few days ago.

Of course I do know of the Atlantic toy company,but with high cost,and over the rooftop mail costs from the USA,I do not normally trade in view of collecting figures anymore unless they are in mint condition and complete sets. Being an old astablished Italian toy company one would think good cowboy figures could be had in Europe. But no. So I do not have many in my collection,and another reason is this.
These are 60mm Atlantic toy figures. Retired in the late 1970`s early 1980`s. These are without a box so I don't know if the hanged man on the tree pose or the guy being dragged were ever produced in this very large Atlantic size. With one on horseback there is a chance they were.So I am treating these as a half set. The price is staggering on American E Bay,at present being £121.46 plus £18.30 shipping cost. So they stay where they are. However I thought you guys might like to see them. BB

Never knew these were made in this scale. I'm lucky that I have a few of these in 1/72, even the ones missing on the picture above.
