Orion - Soviet tankmen and crew

Posted by FrankM on 26 Aug 2010, 21:39

Hello,

here are 3 photos of a new set of Orion (an important note for the german users: Sorry gents – not the models of the little online-shop in Kiel!)

"Soviet tankmen and crew (Summer Dress), 1943-1945"

http://hobbyterra.com/product.asp?idProduct=2370

Best regards

Frank

Ps.: For non-german users: The little model-shop in Kiel, which name is "Orion" too, is only for adults.. but the models are much more interesting than these models. :-D :-D :-D

These don't look bad. Well sculpted and some unusual poses. One waving with flowers

Well, the running guy next to the flower waving chap  looks a little odd.
But in general I see an highly welcomed & useful set. Quite like the different topics Orion tried to cover here: Crew driving the tank, maintaining it, defending after disembarking, awaiting or preparing an attack, a relaxed guy and one waving with an stone-age club... .
This figures will reinforce my Preiser & MIG tankers in some numbers. I just hope that they're not too small (say 22 mm), so that they will mix well with my already conscripted men.
Good sculpting, crisp & clean. Have to admit that I'm a little Orion fan in some way. Sadly they have problems with their moulds & excess plastic lately which defaced some of their (otherwise nicely sculpted & authentic) figures.
And as we can see $8.30 or 6,90 - 7,50 € are a bargain for 39 figures in 13 poses (including a remorseful husband). :-D

Btw, as far as I know the brilliant Preiser range is hard to get outside germany or at least at embarrassing prices?!
This shop offers their whole (afaik available) 1/72 selection at affordable rates:
http://www.modellbau-koelbel.de/start.p ... f4645c3483
But the postage fees for foreign customers are 17,00 € for parcels up to 5 kg (which would be quite many boxes already) and furthermore they take an extra 6,90 € bank-fee. On the other hand they'll refund the sales tax (which is 19% in germany) - the rate depends on where you live.
Anyway, their prices for Preiser kits are top & someone who is interested could place some kind of "omnibus order" together with other enthusiasts perhaps.
And NO, I'm not connected to that shop!
Just order there some stuff for myself from time to time.
Maybe it's an option for anybody?!

Regards

If you think the running guy looks odd, you should see him trying to march - there's always one in every squad who leads off with left arm and left foot both forward...
