Zvezda - French Cuirassiers

Posted by k.b. on 20 Jul 2010, 02:46

I understand you gents who say you were a wee bit disappointed....after all we did have to wait an awfully long time for them. Nevertheless, I will most definitely be buying between 5 -10 boxes of these figures as I've been waiting for them for so long. Tons of potential for conversions and we must remember they were the mainstay of the French Heavy Cavalry.
Thought a few horses looked a little short in the leg but am looking forward to getting to grips with them

Many thanks for posting such a nice selection of photos showing the box artwork, different sprues and comparative photos. Absolutely terrific

I like the big horsetails, except for the pose with the tail in the troopers' face. Lifelike, but in a set with not thát much poses, you have soon too much of them in your army.
Great set and the right size however.
Can anyone give me a link to a comparison of the new and old Russian artillery sets? (if there is any!)
Thanks and regards
(and I'm glad to back on Benno's forum again, although I was always here!:-) )

I can try to ask Hank to make a photo comparison. What kind of guns? 1812-1814? Or Peter I and Charles XII? Photo comparison Peter I and Charles XII artillery the past already.

The russian artillery of 1807-12 please. That would be very nice!
The comparison of the cuirassiers with other sets/companies is indeed very good.
Many thanks on advance.

I'm happy that I don't have to use them with any other figure, so I can't wait to get them.
Already preordered them from hlj :) :)..

Thanks for posting! Do you think there is much difference in size between the two Zvezda sets, like they say on PSR?
You can't judge it now.
However, they are beautiful. And I see a lot of conversion possibilities for that big crew.

Henk made a comparative picture of artillery.
I can not give the link.
See his new album with the title:"Zvezda. Russian Artillery 1812-1815... "

Got mine yesterday - 3 boxes from F&S in Manchester.

Any feelings I had of disappointment have gone - apart from a slight sensation of disbelief that I finally have them in my hands after all this time.

They are really nice!

Still on the sprues - too tired last night to do any comparisons. But now I have to get my act in gear to get started on my Cuirassier Corps.
