And he's an excellent model.

The other was a mounted Saruman from the Alliance Warg Half Orc set ALL 720118

It looks like there is a standing Gandalf, looking as if he is trying to decide which way to take through Moria (top row, RH side) and a Saruman (top row LH side).

I really like the one from Caesar's but it's hard to get it, so what I did in the end to get a Gandalf was to print me one in 1/72 scale.

An Orion Byzantine and a couple of game pieces destined to be wizards.

I have the Saruman from the DA Warg set but also, this guy:

I had it 3d printed. For me, two is enough wizards.

I have the Caesar adventurer's set, several of them in fact, the problem is that apart from Gandalf (one version is equipped with Glandring) most of the magic users are all 'a bit skimpily dressed'.

I think the wizard (and the witches) sets will be useful because they look like they're dressed for war and not for a discotheque. A box of each will give me plenty and I can always flog a couple of sprues off to other players in our club.

I think that top row second from the right looks like a Radagast, and bottom row second from the left looks like Dumbledore.

I think Sir Terry Pratchett's Witches get a nod in the Witches set, plus Maleficent, they're really nice, as are the wizards.

The wizard with the book is very familiar. Really would've liked to see Tim in there.

Just looked at the better pictures and i changed my mind, the figure I thought was perhaps Radagast, isn't, and instead I think it's Tom Bombadil.

With the Witches and the Wizards sets in my hand (but too much going on around the house to sit down and take pictures of them) I had a really good look at them yesterday.

Image

Overall impressions are really good. The Witches, in my opinion are the better of the two sets. Despite the glossy blue plastic, the figures have a lot of character, and there is plenty of nice detail. E is obviously Maleficent.
"Why d'you say that, Steve?"
Ooh, I don't know it might be the two characteristic horns, and the slimness of the figure compared to the other witches. D is the same witch in disguise with apple and basket.
J is very reminiscent of Nanny Ogg from Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. She is plump and cheerful looking (the sculpt is that good), and a witch!
The rest are all very nice, F is holding something that I have interpreted as a familiar but it's not very clear.

The Wizards are nice too, but they 'pop' a bit less that their female counterparts. There are a couple of Gandalf types A and I, a Radagast K, and quite a nice Saruman E, I am fairly convinced that the second J which should have been an L, is Tom Bombadil.
Also H definitely has a Dumbledore vibe about him, I was surprised that they didn't include a 'Tim the Enchanter' from Monty Python and The Holy Grail .
But they are all useable figures and I think the purchase was worth, especially if, like me, you split the sprues with a mate.

Thanks Steve for this excellent picture report! I think these are not my cup of tea, cause I can not do anything with them. I am waiting for the next RedBox Sets for the Late Renaissance.

For the wizards, I agree that I would be a Gandalf type, especially as he has a pipe. Ranagast, for me, I would more associate with G. I can see why it might be suggested that K for him since this figure holds a small creature like maybe a rat in one hand and a circular object in the other, maybe an apple, maybe a small orb. I was thinking K possibly being more like a Merlin though. E definitely a good one for Saruman. Agree H for a Dumbledore vibe. With A and F being the 2 Blue Wizards from LOTR that travel to the East. I guess there are lots of possibilities.
