Strelets Releases June 2020

Posted by Erich von Manstein on 11 Jun 2020, 03:32

According to distributors, Strelets first major release-batch 2020 will be composed of the following.

155 - Nap. Prussian Hussars
204 - Nap. Austrian Grenadiers standing shoulder arms
222 - Nap. French Infantry in summer dress standing order arms
227 - Nap. Bavarian Infantry in attack
228 - Nap. Prussian Uhlans
229 - Nap. Prussian Dragoons
245 - WWII Finnish Anti-Tank Squad in summer dress
with 4x 37mm PstK/36 Bofors AT-gun
246 - WWII Finnish Anti-Tank Squad in winter dress with 4x 20mm Madsen M/38 AT-gun
247 - WWII US Anti-Tank Squad with 4x 75mm M20 recoilless rifle
270 - Nap. Bavarian Infantry at ease
290 - French Foreign Legion Artillery
(WWI up to WWII) with 3x 65mm canon de montagne 1906
M142 - WWI Arabs in Skirmish
Their latest WSS set is also on the way.
237 - WSS French Pikemen

Furthermore we can expect at least 4 re-releases.
M114 - WWII Japanese Troops in tropical uniform
M119 - WWII Indian Troops
M122 - WWI Turkish Infantry in tropical uniform
M127 - WWI Arab Revolt Foot Rebels

Very good choices imho. :yeah:

Will be a very costly June, since I'm going to order all new sets (except the unhistorical Pikemen)... :xd:

As handled in previous years, I initiate a seperate thread solely addressing the specific release batch. Otherwise the actual information is easily overlooked among the plethora of announcements & opinions in the regular "news"-threads. ;-)

Happily looking forward to this massive Nap. & WWI/WWII reinforcements!

Strelets-R, those cheeky fellows, really are taking over.

Love it! Can't wait for the WWII Indian Army...

Some previously postponed sets could be part of the upcoming release batch as well.

211 - Nap. Prussian Line Infantry standing order arms
M139 - Highlanders in attack 1899-1902

This could also apply for the combined re-release of the figures from earlier sets M005 and M006 (Medieval Levy 1 + 2).

248 - Medieval City Levy

Good news from my point of view, the more nap. Prussians the better... but my wallet will look very thin the next month... . ;-) :xd:

I am missing some sets of the WSS range which were already published some time ago with master-figures on the homepage of Strelets

238 - British Cavalry
nr? - French Garde/ Maison du Roi Cavalry
nr? - French Grenadiers a Cheval

and a comment to the pike soldier illustration:
The Strelets pikemen have neither the headgear neither the correct uniform (more bell-like form of the coat pre 1690) in comparison to the found illustration which seems to be also as a historical source of minor confidence.
It seems quite certain too that all nations which were using still pikemen in battles after 1700 -
like the dutch or the swedish - didn´t used anymore steel-breasts.

Strelets decided to release their WSS range steadily one by one. As individual sets apart from their biannual release batches.
Since last years December they managed to provide 7 more or less appropriate sets for this range so far.
The 8th seems to be on the way at the moment, the unfortunate French Pikemen.

The master you're referring to are not released yet, but founded upon Strelets recent pace these could be available during the next months I guess.

My mistake: I placed the new Napoleonic French already at the Strelets news 2020 topic. Do forgive me mister Manstein...

Maybe I'm wrong but this one could fit into Strelets news 2020.
What's next? Strelets releases for 1st week of September topic? :xd: :xd: :xd:

The WWII US anti-tank team is a cool idea. With such soft plastic, I wonder if it will be possible to straighten the barrel of the AT gun...

If it's Strelets usual plastic it should straighten out with hot water no problem.

Same for the Orion sets. Did not notice them before (and likely I will not buy them, for no need for), but the British tank crew summer dress is good! :-D :yeah:

(but probably a famine inVietnam these days?, very slender figures)

Or will I buy the British tank crew? :eh:?
Tempting to combine them with the future lrdg/Sas sets by Strelets. Some crazy movie-like setting would be fun. One in action and one far behind the lines! :-D
