In most of the photos of LRDP, the soldiers have long beards and baggy clothing and head covers similar to Arabs. So these clean cut guys in shorts and berets will be perfect for that?

Aaron, I think it's a yes for me. When they started their raids they were clean. When they came back is something else.

Have a look at this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_Range_Desert_Group

And they worked very good together with the SAS. ;-)

I agree perfect conversion material for the LRDG , most photo`s show them in assorted head gear usually from the parent unit (the one they volunteered from to join the LRDG ) ,so berets are fine , but a head swap is an easy conversion. My use is for the Dragon kit , so 1/72 should be perfect.

On the Strelets forum they confirmed a Vietcong and North Vietnamese Army for 'nam, and LRDG for WW2 which is nice.

As the three new Orion Vietnam boxes arrived, I took some closeup pics of them. Hopefully they will be useful.

I am looking forward to the British Winter Tank Crew. Any pictures anywhere, already?

The boxes are now shown on Hannants future release page, but unusually no second picture showing the contents and poses.

Will order all 4 sets as soon as they become available. :xd:
At least 2 each of the Vietnam and 1939/40 figures, and a single box of 1944/45 Brits.

They all look very tempting. I'll have to mix the VC/NVA in with my old Esci figures.

Holy poop, those Vietnamese figures look great. Super poses, good mix of weapons, and you can make proper sappers from the VC. Straight improvement over the old Esci figures, and a must buy.

Now really the only glaring ommission are the ANZACs :D

"The uniform is a key element of the Australian Army's identity," the Defence Department says.

It seems like with some headswaps and clever painting the Vietnamese could pass for some Warsaw Pact and Middle East armies.

Agreed, at least with the NVA figures this could very well be the case. One of the reasons why I'm going to purchase several boxes of this particular set.

It has been almost 35 years since the back then adequate Esci sets, a contemporary extension of the topic was long overdue imho.
Orion does the job with reasonable quality and unimagined scope.

Although the corresponding Pegasus set is top-notch, a further expansion of the US side would also be desirable. ;-)

All I can say is that I am quite happy that my main focus is on WWII.
Because I would lost all my pocket money, immediately.

SOOO many nice sets.
