Wow well I got my hands on the 3 copies of the siege engines, I haven't built them yet but they look so much better in hand than the photos. I may have to rescribe some of the details in the wood. I think plastic solider review was a bit harsh on it. It will likely be some of my favorite most ancient looking mangonel I have or can find.

What are peoples reaction to the new printed minis in hand? are they brittle? do they hold paint well? is there any reason for a person like me with all soft plastic minis to just stick with that vs integrating? thanks.

Both Assyrians and the Jason and the Argonauts figures look amazing. Thanks for sharing the pictures, Owen.

Not much has been done to update this thread in a while.

Linear-A has just come out with their Assyrian Siege troops, and an after the battle set for Assyria too.

Its been a while so I came to see the progress, Looks like a few of them are at stage 7 of production so could be quick to see some elephants and anti elephant units. which are 2 BIG SETS. ... those ones I have been looking forward too for what seems ages.

There are pictures up in one of the threads on the board they have. (They have used it since who knows to introduce their sets previews, instead of the link on their page).

And here is the Roman Anti-Elephant Cart, along with one of the elephants from before.

Very nice pieces, the casualty helephant is really fantastic !!!

I have just taken the assyrians (infantry, archers and sappers), guys these 3D printed miniature are incredibly detailed and the poses are simply impossible to immagine with previous manufacturing type. The plastic is good (not brittle) I don't have yet painted them but I don't think it will be a problem.

With this quality it's the game-changer in our hobby !!!!

THank you! It was much easier to keep track when they had the pictures on the preview updates. It would be great to have them show up in both places with a link to the discussion about them instead of me have to go find that discussion when I do not know the translations. But I am happy to see them nonethe less! Well worth the wait. Does the second one come with an additional elephant? or is that just for show? I would like to see where this cart is referenced, If logistics could have given a couple hundred of them what a game changer on any battle field.

What a Rube Goldberg-like machine! I love it!! It does smack of Roman desperation.

Dionysius of Halicarnassus, in Book XX of his "Roman Antiquities," provided a detailed description of these anti-elephant devices & I think this is a good representation.

I'm not sure I should also hope for "flaming pigs", as this may run counter to no end of animal cruelty prohibitions.

Actually, most people write in English. The topic titles are almost always in English. Linear-A writes updates in both German and English (you just have to scroll down in the same post).

Anyway, my understanding is that one of each elephant will be in the "big box set". We have yet to see a "big box set", so who knows.
