Speira Miniatures continues

Thank you for the reply, I'm not sure where I heard that but glad to know it isn't true. I had been eyeing your gribeauval fortress guns and while not needing a new project I still have a terrible urge to build a fortress simply to house a few of these lovely guns. Besides, I need an excuse for my wife who questions the need for storing large pieces of styrofoam in the basement.

Both yes and no, they have not been available in these variations with those hats and the chubby musicians have only been on special order.

I received yesterday my order of Napoleonic figures from Speira miniatures.

The figures are excellent, and compare well in real life to the computerised images shown on the Speira website

Photos of the figures are linked here:

Thanks for the links. The pictures are nice, but it would be nice to have at least one picture here in the forum. I like the comparison with the good old Revell bod. Very useful.

The quality of Speira is outstanding. I have a collection of their ACW figs.

There is no musket strap which seems to be the case in most all figure productions going way back in time to their conception in metal or plastic.
i usually painted my own in with a few layers of paint. However not wishing to be seen as a dogmatic critic, i hope you do well with the new range of figures. They are beautiful. BB

Yes our models comes without the strap cause its to hard to make them survive in the freight especially in the smaller scales so we decided to remove them.

Just a quick post to tell you that I had the chance to work a little bit with Speira about their new french 24 pdr fortress gun, I just receive my order and the result is outstanding !

I cheated a little and ordered several artillery piece from ACW range in order to be able to depict several french guns from different era
24 pdr Gribeauval fortress gun (original speira napoleonic range)
24 pdr Valee siege gun (24pdr gribeauval guntube from napoleonic range with ACW siege carriage)
24 pdr Valee Fortress gun (24pdr gribeauval guntube from napoleonic range with ACW fortress carriage)

As US ordnance copied french ordnance at that time it was easy and as Speira precision is top notch easier !

I cannot resist to show Speira's 24 pdr on siege carriage 1/72 scale with my 24 pdr on siege carriage but made by French artillery school student in the 19th century in 1/8th scale (Wood, metal and bronze barrel)
