The figures themselves look pretty decent on the Hat forum. Only took 10+ years!

Yes, they do, although I'm actually waiting for their British rivals to finally come out.

Let's hope it doesn't take another 10 years to bring them out.

According to the Hät forum, their American infantry from the AWI is already available from some vendors. This is what the figures look like:

And the production of their British rivals are already in the phase of 'sizing figures fixed':

This is good news!

The figures are really a good addition to the existing sets for this period! Thanks for sharing, Santi!

Thanks for sharing Santi. First impressions are that the Americans look good. I'll wait to see what PSR says before I commit to them though. I really love the look of those British, particularly the grenadiers. It's a shame these didn't come out a few years ago, before my WSS obsession took over all my painting time!

Photos of the figures are already on PSR, Rich, although the review is not yet.

Well, I and I'm sure many others are glad that these figures didn't come out sooner, Rich. If they had, we would have been deprived of enjoying your fantastic units from the WSS.

Hät has already brought out the British AWI infantry test sprue. They will now continue to work on it to improve it. It seems that, after so many years of waiting, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel for this series.

I have also been confirmed on their forum that the colour of all British sets will be red, while blue will be the colour of all American sets. :-D

The officer - on the left, walking forwards, holding his sword, is very nice!

Remember the time when all officer figures were limited poses that didn't look like they were part of what was going on? This one does, he's marching forward with his men as part of the line. Very nice pose.

I think exactly the same as you, Steve. In fact, it's my favourite figure in the whole set. It seems that in Hät's initial designs years ago they had two possible poses for this figure with the right arm separated (sword forward and sword resting on the shoulder), but in the end they opted for the first one. I personally think either would have been a good choice.

It seems that Hät is serious about finishing this AWI series as soon as possible, because they are already carrying out the sizing of the American artillery and cavalry as well.

Presumably the British artillery and cavalry will follow. Let us hope that progress continues at this rate until the end. ;-)

Good news, as this is also an underequipped period of history and the sets from Imex or Italeri aren't good or available any more.

Hät has released test shots of their AWI British Infantry. Hopefully the final product will be of the same quality...but in red plastic.

According to their forum, it seems that Hät has finished the process of sizing the American artillery and cavalry. Finally, the arms will be fixed on the figures, thus limiting the possible variants of each one.

Thanks for that update!!

I have a real soft spot for Hat figures. In the mid 90"s I started building large Napoleonic armies in 1/72 Hat was putting out sets like crazy then. It really fueled my project. There were hardly any other 1/72 producers at that time. I know they have production problems but I don't condemn them for that.

Thanks for the updates Santi! It seems they are really getting it together again after several years of sporadic and often underwhelming releases

Well done by HaT I say. The poses look good and very useful. American militia and Hessians might make interesting additional sets but IdK about the demand for such. Happy to see HaT carrying on. They do need to re-release some Napoleonic sets that have more or less vanished from the market online.
Cheers,

In the Facebook group ‘Miniatures Scale 1/72’ Peter Barnum II has posted these pictures of painted test shots of the Hät's AWI British infantry:

Several online retailers are already offering the British Hät AWI Infantry set in the future releases section of their websites. Hopefully it will move to the on-sale section soon. Here is the box art:
